EB celebrates Dylan on International Day of People with Disability (Dec 3)
Meet Dylan from St Augustine's in Maryborough. He and his team have just finished 10th overall in the Pushcart class out of 39 teams at the 2018 Energy Breakthrough. Dylan has Down syndrome, but that hasn't stopped him or his team participating or celebrating. This International Day of People with Disability on 3 December, we want to bring into focus stories like Dylan's, but also the many young people with a disability who participate in our event.

Electrifying beginning to a new era of the Energy Breakthrough
The 2018 Energy Breakthrough began a new era with a fresh, friendly, education-first approach. Program partners, the Country Education Partnership and the Central Goldfields Shire Council, were joined by sponsors the Department of Education Victoria, Vic Roads, La Trobe University, Central Highlands Water, True Foods in delivering an outstanding edition in Maryborough over five days. The Maryborough and the Human Powered Vehicle (HPV) community responded to the challenge of providing more volunteers to ensure the event not only survived, but thrived. It was an electrifying finish to the 24-Hour Trial for secondary school teams with defending champions Girton Grammar School having a throttle failure with five minutes before the chequered flag.
Super Saturday – Catch Up on All Things Pushcarts and HPV A Related!
Our Primary School HPV teams were back down on the VicRoads Track nice and early this morning for the restart of their 14 hour trial after being on compulsory breaks overnight. The day also kicked off nice and early for our Pushcart teams who took part in their Sprints down on the front straight of Track 1.

Our second official day of the 2018 Energy Breakthrough saw our newly named VicRoads Track come alive with our Pushcart Teams taking to the track for their Endurance Event. But ... it was midday that everyone on the VicRoads Track was waiting for. With the assembly grid all ready, the minute the Australian flag dropped - they were off and racing!

True Energy Breakthrough Spirit Shines Bright With Caledonian Primary School – We Hear Their Story!
The night is always darkest before the dawn and Caledonian Primary School’s metaphorical night certainly seemed black when their HPV vehicles were reported stolen earlier this month. With just days until the 2018 Energy Breakthrough, brazen thieves broke into the school and stole two HPV carts in a senseless act.

EB Veteran Don Elliott talks about the Holmesglen approach, Southern Alliance and THAT Bugatti
Believed to be one of the longest-serving team managers at the Energy Breakthrough, Don Elliot has been the man behind Holmesglen Institute of TAFE's involvement since 1992. has been involved in the big event since 1992 - save for a few ‘off years’ here and there. We caught up with him to talk about some of his favourite teams including Southern Alliance (1997) and his Bugatti replica.
