New for ’22: Robotics Demonstration Challenge
For a number of years we have been pondering the potential of robotics in the Energy Breakthrough. This year we have invited four teams - two Secondary and two Primary - to compete in the first Robotics Demonstration Challenge. We plan for this to become an open event in 2023 with a number of Coding / Robotics Professional Development sessions being run around the state of Victoria to encourage more schools to get involved.
Bendigo EEV & HPV Grand Prix returns on 10 September 2022
The Bendigo EEV & HPV Grand Prix will return on 10 September 2022 and registrations are open NOW! All human powered vehicle, electric vehicle and hybrid teams are invited to participate in this schools-only event to give students and teachers much needed preparation ahead of the Energy Breakthrough in November.
Chris Hamilton: From EB to Le Tour De France
Past Energy Breakthrough participant, Chris Hamilton, has secured a debut ride with Team DSM for the 2022 Tour De France. This selection marks yet another stellar milestone for the Bendigo-born and raised rider, who participated in the Energy Breakthrough between 2011 - 2013.
TRYathlon Test Session 2022 – Expressions of Interest
Calling for expressions of interest for TRYathlon teams to participate in a test and learn day later this year. This is YOUR chance to practice the skills needed to excel in the Obstacle Rally and the Time Trial TRYathlon events! The organisers are looking at two prospective dates and are calling for interest from teams to determine which date will be the best.
Progress Report: Deniliquin North PS
Teacher Christie Gavel leads a gaggle of excited students at Deniliquin North PS who are eagerly preparing for this year's Pushcarts program. They have been documenting their Pushcart journey online using the digital platform 'SWAY' and have included practice sessions, team selections, team names and engineering solutions to problems.

Our Energy Breakthrough Explainer Webinar series has been delivered for 2022, offering a great introduction for new schools and a refresher for people who are 'not so new' to the program. The challenge for the Country Education Partnership team through this session is answering that sometimes tricky question: What IS the Energy Breakthrough?
2022 School Handbooks released
The 2022 School Handbooks have now been released to help students, teachers and their school communities participate in this year's Energy Breakthrough program. There is one Handbook for each category, from Junkyard Challenge (Innovations In Technology), Pushcarts, TRYathlon, Human Powered Vehicles and Energy Efficient Vehicles.
Get up to speed with our EB Explainer Webinars
Get up to speed with one of our 'EB Explainer Webinars' to be held online on Wednesday 25th and Thursday 26th of May between 4:15pm - 5:00pm. We know that with the disruption of the COVID-19 pandemic during 2020 and 2021, many Energy Breakthrough programs have new students, new teachers and new parents who have never participated before. With this in mind, we are hosting two 'EB Explainer Webinars' to help educate and inspire the 2022 generation of Team Managers and students. Please note: The session will be repeated each time, so you'll only need to attend once!

2021 Energy Breakthrough Festival Cancelled
The Energy Breakthrough Management Group made the decision Monday (02/08/2021) to cancel the 2021 Maryborough Energy Breakthrough Festival, due to the ongoing health risks of COVID-19 and their impact on public events. The event was due to be held from the 17th to 21st November 2021.
2021 Event Entries Opening and Event Update
This year marks the 30th celebration of the Energy Breakthrough Festival in Maryborough! We are excited to make the event a special one and, as you will all be aware, a safe one given the current climate. At present, our planning revolves around holding an event that maximises learning, participation and competition within a COVIDsafe framework. The 2020 Energy Breakthrough event, due to be held in Maryborough from 18 to 22 November, has been canceled.

Leading a team through the Energy Breakthrough can be richly rewarding and demanding – so it can be wonderful to have support from outside of your school to help give advice and extra input. Our Energy Breakthrough Mentor Program promises to offer up to 20 interested schools that support. Team Managers should complete an Expression of Interest form today!
2020 Entries are opening at 8AM today!
Amid the 2020 global COVID-19 pandemic, the 2020 Energy Breakthrough entries will open as planned, starting at 8AM this morning (Tuesday).
