Cyient TRYathlon: Ready to rock, rumble and ride!
The obstacles and challenges are ready for the 56 teams entered in the Cyient TRYathlon to rock, rumble and ride. Quick pit stops, fast acceleration, and smooth handling are key to success in the Time Trial and the Obstacle Rally, whilst the 8 Hour Endurance Trial on the CFA Track is a chance to really stretch the riders' legs. Here we take a quick look at this year's Obstacles and which event is happening where.
St Therese’s Primary students learn from seasoned Catholic College Bendigo campaigners
As schools enter their final preparations for the 2017 RACV Energy Breakthrough, over 30 students from St. Therese’s Primary School in Bendigo have spent two days with some seasoned Catholic College Bendigo campaigners. With these older students keen to pass on their knowledge to the eager youngsters, RACV EB Pushcarts coordinator Bronte Harrop joined them to see them in action.
Centralian Senior College Clontarf Academy : Our first ever team from the N.T
It’s 1,500 kilometres from Alice Springs to Maryborough, but it’s just another step on a bigger journey for Centralian Senior College Clontarf Academy team - the first ever team from the Northern Territory to participate in the RACV Energy Breakthrough. Their Team Manager, James McNamee, has quite a history with the event, too.

RACV Track Changes: New layout, speed traps, pit lane changes, and penalty display system
With the 2017 edition of the RACV Energy Breakthrough fast approaching, we’re announcing some changes to the RACV Track. These include a new layout, the introduction of speed traps, some pit lane changes and a new penalty display system. All of these initiatives are designed to improve the safety of our participants, spectators and event officials.

Join RACV Energy Breakthrough on Strava
Calling all cyclists and runners - you're invited to join the RACV Energy Breakthrough STRAVA club! Created to connect students from schools across Victoria and beyond as they prepare for this year's event in Maryborough. Strava is the social network for athletes, where anyone can upload their physical activities (runs, rides, swims, anything!). They can then give and receive 'kudos' and comments on other friend's activities, too.
‘Design, Display and Trial’ – Free Preparation Workshop – 27th October
The RACV EB have joined forces with La Trobe University and Cyient to hold a special 'Design, Display and Trial' preparation workshop ahead of the 2017 RACV Energy Breakthrough. This free workshop is an invitation for all RACV EB students, teachers and team managers to attend and will be held on the morning of Friday October 27 2017 at the La Trobe University campus in Bendigo.

Jake Stevens – From RACV EB to La Trobe Uni to Nitro
Jake ‘Cobba’ Stevens will be familiar to many in our RACV Energy Breakthrough community from our wildly popular EBTV video series. But what is less well known is that Jake was previously an RACV EB participant himself. Between school and EBTV he spent a formative time studying Journalism at La Trobe University, a proud partner of the RACV EB program. Jake is about to cover the World Athletics Championships on behalf of Athletics Australia. We caught up with him just before it kicked off...

Girton Grammar students take on the Shell Eco-Marathon in Singapore
Whilst our teams this week in Australia have been racing to get their entries in as quickly as possible, the Girton Racing Team from Bendigo is in Singapore taking on a very different type of challenge. They're in Singapore for the Shell Eco-Marathon (Asia) and are aiming to cover 900km their vehicle with just one litre of petrol.

2017 School’s Handbook and Specifications Update
Since publishing the RACV Energy Breakthrough handbook which includes Vehicle Specification and Trial Regulations and Rules, a number of schools have been quick to express concerns about changes to the seat belt mounting rules and with the power restrictions placed on pedal/electrically EEVs.

The long-awaited 2017 School's Handbook is finally here! After much checking, reviewing and double checking, rules, regulations, specifications and criteria are now available for viewing in preparation for entries opening on the 15th of March, 2017.
Inside Woodleigh School’s success at the RACV EB
Not many schools achieve back-to-back success in Human Powered Vehicle (HPV) events. So, we caught up with their Team Manager and RACV EB Alumni Jono Keane to find out more about their approach. Whilst they were pipped for line honours by Energy Efficient Vehicles on both occasions - first by Rode RAGE (2015) and then by Ormeau State High School (2016) - there was still plenty for the Woodleigh team to be proud of as we discovered...
