Saturday is always the busiest day of the RACV Energy Breakthrough. With all Primary HPV and Pushcart events escalating to their epic conclusions, and all Secondary trails commence. With innovation, a junkyard challenge, a VIP luncheon and Eye of the Tiger playing at least four times, Saturday was exciting, hectic and eclectic.
Friday the 21st saw the first day of racing for the weekend. With the Primary Pushcarts completing their endurance race in the morning, the tri-athlon on the RACV track in the afternoon, and the beginning of the Primary School HPV trial on the Holden Track. Welcome to event week. The week that over 400 teams, thousands of students, teachers and parents, volunteers and event staff have been waiting for all year. Welcome to the 2015 RACV Energy Breakthrough. Our 25th Energy Breakthrough in fact! We've put together a schedule of events, list of things to do whilst you're here, and various other bits and pieces to help you along the way!
Introducing Marshal Training Online (MTO) - the RACV Energy Breakthrough's new standard for marshals. At the beginning of 2015, the team at the Energy Breakthrough HQ set a goal of improving the training of corner marshals for this years event. This consisted of developing new and updating existing training materials, creating an instructional video and an online test.
With just 22 days until the 25th RACV Energy Breakthrough, we welcome all previous and new volunteers to help celebrate what volunteering is all about!
With warm and pleasant conditions, a dark threatening sky setting down on the final round of the 2015 Victorian HPV Series down at Casey Fields with a record-breaking number of 128 teams took to the track; making the event the largest in Victoria on a single track for a HPV race.
Term 4 brings spring, warm weather, HPV assembling, pushcart building, crafty designing and of course, the 2015 RACV Energy Breakthrough! At this late stage, the RACV Energy Breakthrough team are still accepting entries for the Innovations in Technology (Crafty Design) category for 2015.
