Each and every year the Energy Breakthrough grows in popularity with schools wanting to participate. And the 2018 event is no different, with a selection of schools making their EB debut this weekend including Mount Pleasant Primary School.
The night is always darkest before the dawn and Caledonian Primary School’s metaphorical night certainly seemed black when their HPV vehicles were reported stolen earlier this month. With just days until the 2018 Energy Breakthrough, brazen thieves broke into the school and stole two HPV carts in a senseless act.
Get 'em while their HOT. Practice Results from the Human Powered Vehicles A category for 2018 and it was White Hills Primary School (Class A2) lead the way with a 1 minute 49 second lap, just one second ahead of Avenel PS (Class A1).

Believed to be one of the longest-serving team managers at the Energy Breakthrough, Don Elliot has been the man behind Holmesglen Institute of TAFE's involvement since 1992. has been involved in the big event since 1992 - save for a few ‘off years’ here and there. We caught up with him to talk about some of his favourite teams including Southern Alliance (1997) and his Bugatti replica.
