Entry Week 2018 – Day 2 of 3

It’s day two of ‘Entries Week’ here at RACV EB and today it’s the Human Powered Vehicle (HPV) Secondary class that will be open for business.

Yesterday …

Yesterday, it was the HPV Primary teams’ chance to enter, with 104 entries received within the first three minutes. Great to see plenty of the traditional school names on the list, including Lockwood PS and Jells Park PS who each respectively won their Display & Presentation and Design & Construction components of their classes in 2017. Although we also welcome new schools Mount Pleasant PS from Ballarat and Pearcedale PS on the Mornington Peninsula.

Today …

We expect another flurry of clicking Team Managers from 8AM this morning, and whilst our HPV Secondary and HPV Primary generally run to capacity you may want to consider adding to your RACV EB experience with the alternative challenges of Pushcarts, Energy Efficient Vehicles (EEVs) or Innovations in Technology?

Nigel Preston is a self-confessed 'HPV Tragic'. After 'catching the bug' from his older brother, he helped launch the Energy Breakthrough program at Eaglehawk SC with his dad and some mates way back in 1998. Having participated in the EB for four years he finished his VCE in 2001 and volunteering to help with the event management straight away. He's been helping out ever since. Nigel has also been a part of teams that have taken line honours at the EB in 2000 & 2001 (Bendigo Senior SC); the Australian International Pedal Prix 2003, 2004 & 2009 (Bendigo Youth Racing); and the Wonthaggi Human Powered Grand Prix in 2019.
