The second day of the 2017 Energy Breakthrough saw the CFA Track abuzz with excitement, anticipation and nerves for our Primary Human Powered Vehicle teams.
Noon was the time that everyone in our Primary Human Powered Vehicle teams were waiting for. A time that opened the opportunity for them to put all their hard work and training elements to the test…
And they’re off and racing!
The first of our HPV Endurance Trials started when Komal Naik from our silver sponsor, Cyient, waved the national flag to send them on their way! White Hill Primary School holding the top two positions at the end of the session at 8pm.
Local school and defending champions, Maryborough Education Centre’s Mecnificent 2.0 remains in the hunt.
The teams are on compulsory breaks until 6am Saturday.

Looking to Tomorrow
Saturday means that we are now halfway through our event schedule! Let’s take a look at what’s happening:
- HPV Class A (Primary) take back to the CFA Track for the restart of their 14-hour trial at 6am. By 12 noon the track will be lined again as we watch the checkered flag fall on the end of the race. Results from the trial are then tallied and added to the scores from their Display & Presentation and Design & Construction elements. Presentations will take place at 3.30pm at the Stage in the Energy Expo area.
- Pushcart teams will also be anxiously awaiting 3.30pm when winners will be announced.
- Try-athlon teams assemble the start of the grid from 1.30pm for racing to begin at 2pm at the CFA Track. An hour after the end of the event, teams will have their Presentations announced down at CFA Stage at 11pm.
- The Energy Expo will be in full swing from 10am with Melbourne Vixens superstar, Emily Mannix around for a chat and photo from 11am. Attendees are reminded to collect their Passport and collect all their stamps to go in the draw to win.
