The recent Renewable Energy & Regional Australia Conference was given an ‘breakthrough’ by Weeroona College, Bendigo.
The outside broadcast of ABC Radio was pedal powered – Yes, PEDAL POWERED – by Weeroona College’s hybrid pedal charger. Morning Presenter, Johnathon Ridnell, is pictured interviewing Nicola as she pumps away. Power was also supplied by our new Renewable Energy Demonstration Trailer which has been developed as a joint effort between Peppergreen Farm, Greater Bendigo City Council and Weeroona College. It is available to local community and school groups for day use for a nominal charge. Contact Peppergreen Farm 03 5441 6565. Although, Weeroona College has sole use of it on November 24 and 25 in 2007!
Long serving Weeroona Team Manager John Taylor, presented during one of the sessions, “It was encouraging to see the efforts of the whole EB community so well recognised and received by the conference organisers and participants, including some from overseas.” John said. “Its affirming to know we are ‘world leaders’ in this activity which has effectively been delivering hands-on sustainable energy education for 16 years.
Weeroona’s Bonnie, Nola, Set and Aaron were on hand with Golden Bullet to present the RACV Energy Breakthrough concept to a range of conference attendees from across Australia and around the world.
If you or your school is attending a conference or event promoting the RACV Energy Breakthrough, pull-up banners and some promotional materials are available.
