We’re bringing back the tidiest campsite competition this year, motivating campers to keep their spaces spick and span. We’ll celebrate and reward the cleanest campsite and team with a free waste audit for their school (valued at $1700)!

The competition will be judged by our environmental squad onsite, so we ask that you encourage your fellow teammates and pals to participate in the zero-waste initiatives throughout the event to win!

Earlier in 2022, the B-Alternative team headed up to the hills to facilitate a Waste Audit with last years winners of the 2022 Tidy Campsite Award: Beaconsfield Upper Primary School.

They are already doing some amazing things to care for the environment including…

  • Kitchen garden
  • Compost pods
  • Feed veggie and fruit scraps to chickens
  • Collect eggs from said chickens

Garbage guts waste streams – Mingo (Soft plastics), Yah Yah (Comingled recycling) Dinny (landfill) and Bebo (organics)

During the workshop, the students sorted through SEVEN wheelie bins of waste and found some more ways the school can divert its waste resources from landfill and save money in the process
