We’re working with B-Alternative again this year to help make the Energy Breakthrough as environmentally friendly as possible.
So, what are we doing?
- We’re going single-use plastic free!
So bring your own water bottle! - We’re going single-use packaging free!
Our food vendors will be providing resuable crockery, so make sure to take it back to the wash station when you’re done. - Resource recovery stations
We’ll have resource recovery stations, with various waste options, so make sure to separate your rubbish properly, so can divert as much as possible away from landfill. - Cardboard recycling
We’ll have a cardboard recylcling station for you to drop off your cardboard, saving even more rubbish from landfill. - Camp gear repairs
B-Alternative will do their best to fix any broken camp site gear, and if they can’t, they’ll make sure to dispose or recycle thoughtfully. - E-waste disposal.
Don’t need those fairy lights or solar panels anymore? Don’t throw them out! B-Alternative will make sure to dispose of them properly.
Watch this video below from the B-Alternative and the Highview College Energy Breakthrough team to see how you can help us deliver the most environmentally friendly Energy Breakthrough yet!
We want to hear from you!
Whilst as an organisation, we’re working hard with B-Alternative to make the Energy Breakthrough the greenest year yet – we can’t do it without you, the schools!
So we want to know, what is your school doing to reduce waste and be environmentally conscious in the lead up, and at the Energy Breakthrough?
Send us a message, or comment on Facebook to let us know any tips, tricks or advice on how your school is making your journey to the Energy Breakthrough as environmentally friendly as possible.
