President of the Casey Cardinia HPV and Cycling Club and a key organiser of the Series, Nathan Boon told the EB News Crew that the committee had attracted good interest before school started for the year:
“We’ve already received plenty of entries for our first event in 2015 including one interstate team for our event later this month – and we are really looking forward to receiving more in the final days.”
Round 1 of the Victorian HPV Series will be a 6 hour endurance event held at Casey Fields in Cranbourne.
A perfect race length to testing all student and rider abilities around the 1.6 kilometre track and a good way to introduce new students to the world of human powered vehicles. The committee are looking forward to building on a successful previous 2014 season; with a strong field of participants in Round 1 and 3 in hoping to reach and hold the title of the most entries entered in a Victorian event.
Will your school or team help us get there?
Entries for Round 1 will remain open until 5pm on Friday 20th February 2015.
The committee are also pleased to announce that Round 3 will be held in Bendigo on Saturday, August 22nd and will be a 10-hour grand prix allowing riders to compete in both day and night conditions around the Bendigo Livestock Exchange.
