Do you want to make the leap from solely human powered vehicle (HPV) to one with an electric motor too? Don’t know where to start? Holmesglen TAFE – in conjunction with REV Bikes and Niubike – invite you to a demonstration of how you can convert your school’s HPV to an electric hybrid HPV. You may be already entered into the Energy Breakthrough and looking to make the switch, or simply interested in the technology, all are welcome to come and ask questions. You’re welcome to bring along your existing HPV, so that you can get advice on your specific needs too.
The workshop is split into two parts with two Melbourne companies that specialise in electric bike conversions, REV Bikes and Niubike, exploring a range of topics throughout the day.
The workshops will explore different types of
electric motors,
controllers,
battery technologies, and
battery chargers.
The workshops will look at both pedal+electric conversions and full electric conversions.
REV Bikes will conduct the morning demonstration, followed by Niubike the afternoon session.

I am very interested in converting one of our pedal HPVs into an electric and pedal HPV. It would then be able to enter the Hybrid category here in Maryborough Qld in our 24 hr HPV race in September.
Being from Queensland, I cannot get down to your workshop or races to see what you have.
Is it posible for you to send me information on the electric motors, batteries and how to set up the HPV, so that I am able to attempt it up here.
Thank you in advance for what ever information you can pass on to me.
