The RACV Energy Breakthrough last night won the Victoria University Award for Festivals & Events at the Melbourne Airport 2009 Victorian Tourism Awards.
Energy Breakthrough Event Convenor, John Stafford, said that he was ‘stoked’ to have won the Award and that it was a great boost to the confidence of the Central Goldfields Shire Council and everyone who works and volunteers on the event.
After a number of years receiving ‘Merit’ or ‘Highly Commended’ status at the awards, it is great to see our fantastic event be recognised for the amazing tourism impact it has on Maryborough.
The awards were presented in a black tie Gala Ceremony in The Palladium room at Crown. There were a number of Central Goldfields Shire Councillors in attendance, along with Michael Case & Greg Hill from the RACV and Phil Brown & Wendy Graham from the Country Education Project.
